Love vs Lust

I learnt how to differentiate between love and lust with your sweat embedded body weighing down my own.

Lust is your hands, over my lips, neck, hips, thighs

travelling everywhere without once leaving my skin.

Lust is rush and rough

it is my back to that wall

my clothes thrown over that chair

my nails engraving our sins into your back

a temporary reminder of how pleasurable a little pain can be.

Lust is crossing my legs too tight when I'm out at dinner

the waiter has the same colour hair as you

I want to pull it.

We had sex once to the song playing in the background

now all I can think about is the way you mumble 'fuck' under your breath when I first get undressed.

Love is your hands

Forgetting to be gentle while you discover every crevice that makes me

Love is the moment of calm in-between the desperate want for each other.

It's your embarrassed laugh as you crash too hard into that wall

your struggle to get my bra off to add to the pile of clothing on that chair

it is my nails engraving our passion into your back

to remind you the pain isn't even real

Love is biting back a smile when I'm out at dinner

the waiter has the same colour hair as you

I want to run my fingers through it.

We had sex once to the song playing in the background

now all I can think about is the way you mumble 'fuck' under your breath

right before you whisper 'I love you'
