There is none so diverse as the Rose, the symbol of lust, of love. Within her layered petals lies an ancient heart, a soul of old that is rich in words and wisdom. She the Rose is soft and solid. Deceiving are her fumes of candied fragrance, for when lovers’ hands attempt to pluck her they will bleed on her thorns. They are her shelter, her protection, she will never let the undeserving too close. She the Rose will never be lonely, the globe littered with her abstract brothers and sisters. Some red, white, yellow, yet always with their roots interlinked. Admiration, adoration she receives at first glance, they gawk at her unapologetic beauty, the realisation that her imperfections are perfections no other could contain. So sweet is she the Rose she is worn on wrists and chests, placed into baking and bread. Those who delight in her will touch her, taste her, will fall to their knees in desperation for more of her. She the Rose a symbol of women, femininity, Cleopatra herself devoted to her bloom. Born from teardrops is she the Rose, her mother Goddess Aphrodite, Venus.
